Share code online with a short link

pagenam is a simple way to send a piece of code to another person. Paste it, choose a page name and copy the link. There is nothing to install and no account to create, and the page deletes itself after 24 hours. It is built to help you get code where it needs to go, quickly.

When it helps

  • Sending code to a friend or colleague who is stuck on a problem.
  • Showing a bug to someone who can help, without screenshots of code.
  • Swapping code during a group project, a code review or a hackathon.
  • Moving code from a shared or work computer to your own without signing in to anything.
  • Sharing an answer in a chat as a clean, readable page instead of a wall of text.

How to share code in three steps

  1. 1Open Share code and paste your code. The language is detected automatically.
  2. 2Type a page name, for example my-code-fix. A tick shows when it is free.
  3. 3Press Create share, copy the link and send it. Add a 4-digit PIN first if only one person should see it.

What you get

  • Automatic syntax highlighting with line numbers, readable on phones and desktops.
  • Up to 4 MB of code or text per share.
  • A short link that is easy to say out loud or write on a whiteboard.
  • An optional PIN, and a copy or download button for the person you share with.
  • Automatic deletion after 24 hours. Nothing to clean up later.

A note on privacy

A PIN stops anyone without it from seeing the code through the link, and wrong guesses are limited: after 5 wrong tries the page pauses. It is an access gate, not end-to-end encryption, so do not paste passwords, API keys or anything you cannot afford to lose.

Share pages are hidden from search engines, so your code does not show up in Google.

Questions

Do I need an account to share code?

No. Anyone can create a code share without signing in. Signing in with Google or GitHub adds a dashboard where you can rename, edit and delete your shares.

How long does shared code stay online?

24 hours. After that the link stops working straight away and the content is removed by an automatic cleanup.

Is this like Pastebin?

It does the same basic job, sharing text or code through a link, but every page expires automatically, you choose the page name and you can lock it with a PIN.

Can I edit code after sharing it?

Yes, if you were signed in when you created it. Open your dashboard and choose Edit code while the share is still live. The link, PIN and expiry time stay the same.

Which languages are supported?

Code is highlighted for all the common languages, including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Rust, SQL, HTML, CSS and more, and plain text works too.
