Temporary file sharing with a link that expires

Drop up to 10 files, choose a page name and send the link. People can preview images and PDFs, download single files or grab everything as one ZIP. The share deletes itself after 24 hours, and no account is needed.

When it helps

  • Sending reports, PDFs and slide decks to a teammate or friend.
  • Sharing photos of notes, a whiteboard or a document with someone who missed it.
  • Passing a zipped project, dataset or design file to a teammate without filling up a chat app.
  • Getting files from a shared or work computer onto your own device.
  • Sending a large file that is too big for email.

How to share files in three steps

  1. 1Open Share files and drop your files in, or choose them from your device.
  2. 2Pick a page name, for example project-report, and add a 4-digit PIN if you want one.
  3. 3Press Create share and send the link. Your files upload directly and securely.

Limits and what to expect

  • Up to 10 files per share, 10 MB per file and 50 MB in total for guests.
  • Almost any file type works: documents, images, archives, video and more. Native programs and Windows scripts are blocked for safety.
  • Images and PDFs can be previewed in the browser. Everything else downloads as an attachment.
  • Multi-file shares can be downloaded as one ZIP.
  • Files are deleted after 24 hours, and the link stops working at that moment.

Privacy and safety

Files are kept in private storage and handed out only through short-lived links, after the expiry and PIN checks. A PIN is an access gate rather than encryption, so avoid sharing anything highly sensitive.

Uploaded files are always downloaded as attachments, so a shared web page or script can never run on the site. Share pages are hidden from search engines.

Questions

Do I need to sign up to share files?

No. Guests can share files with no account. Signing in with Google or GitHub gives you a dashboard to manage your shares and may come with higher limits.

How big can a file be?

10 MB per file and 50 MB per share for guests. The current limits are always shown on the Share files page.

How long are my files kept?

24 hours. After that the link stops working and the files are deleted.

Can I add or remove files later?

Yes, if you were signed in when you created the share. Use Manage files in your dashboard while the share is live. The expiry time does not change.

Can I send several files at once?

Yes. Put them in one share and the other person can download them individually or all together as a ZIP.

Can I protect my files with a PIN?

Yes. Switch on the optional 4-digit PIN when you create the share and send it separately from the link.
