How pagenam works

pagenam lets you share code, text or files with anyone using a short link and a page name you choose. No chat history and no clutter. You can lock a page with a PIN, and it deletes itself after 24 hours.

Video tutorial

Create → Share → Use → Expire

  1. Step 01

    Create

Paste code or drop files. Choose a page name and, if you like, a 4-digit PIN.

  2. Step 02

    Share

Copy the link (www.pagenam.app/your-name) and send it. The PIN travels separately.

  3. Step 03

    Use

Anyone with the link reads the code, previews images and PDFs, or downloads the files.

  4. Step 04

    Expire

After 24 hours the page and its files are removed for good.

Tutorial: how to use it

Share code

  1. Open Share code and paste your text. The language is detected for you.
  2. Type a page name. A tick tells you it is free.
  3. Optionally switch on a PIN.
  4. Press Create share, then copy the link.

Share files

  1. Open Share files and drop your files in (guests: up to 10).
  2. Pick a page name and an optional PIN.
  3. Press Create share. Files upload straight to private storage with a progress bar for each.
  4. Viewers can preview images and PDFs, download single files, or download everything as a ZIP.

Open a shared link

  1. Open the link you were sent. If it asks for a PIN, enter the 4 digits.
  2. Code pages have copy and download buttons. File pages show each file with preview and download.
  3. If the page says “not found”, the link is wrong or the share has expired.

Sign in and manage your shares

  1. Choose Log in and continue with Google or GitHub. You can add a password afterwards if you want one.
  2. Shares created while signed in appear on your dashboard with their time left.
  3. Use the ⋯ menu on a share to copy or open it, rename the page, edit the code, or add and remove files.
  4. Editing never changes the expiry time. Expired shares cannot be edited.

PIN protection

A PIN is four digits. Without it, the page shows an entry form and nothing else: no code, no file names, no downloads. After 5 wrong tries the page pauses for 15 minutes, and a share that keeps attracting wrong guesses is locked for good. Send the PIN through a different channel than the link.

Page names

Your link is /your-name. Use 3–50 lowercase letters, digits, - or _. Names must be unique, and words like admin or login are reserved. When a share expires, its name becomes available again.

Limits at a glance

Page names are 3–50 characters. A PIN is 4 digits and optional. These numbers come straight from the site settings, so they are always current. Individual accounts can be given different limits.

Built to make sharing easy

Sometimes you just need to get a piece of code or a file to someone else quickly, without asking them to join another chat or open a cloud folder. pagenam is built to help with exactly that.

  • Share in seconds

Paste your code or text, pick a page name like my-notes and send the link. It is highlighted and easy to read on a phone.

  • Works on any computer

No app and no account. Handy on a shared or borrowed computer where you would rather not sign in to your own accounts.

  • Nothing lingers

Every share deletes itself after 24 hours, so old pages and unfinished drafts do not pile up.

Privacy and security

  • Files sit in private storage and are handed out only through short-lived signed links, after the expiry and PIN checks.
  • PINs are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text.
  • Uploaded files are always downloaded as attachments, so a shared web page or script can never run on this site.
  • Share pages are hidden from search engines. Expired or missing pages return the same “not found”.
  • Backups made by the hosting provider follow their own retention policy.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Anyone can create a share as a guest. Signing in with Google or GitHub adds a dashboard where you can see, rename, edit and delete your shares, and may come with higher limits.

What happens when a share expires?

After 24 hours the link stops working immediately and the content and files are deleted by an automatic cleanup. An expired link looks exactly like a page that never existed.

Can I recover an expired share?

No. Expiry is permanent, so copy what you need before the time is up.

Can I change a share after creating it?

Yes, if you were signed in when you created it and it has not expired. From the dashboard you can rename the page, edit the code of a code share, and add or remove files of a file share. The expiry time never changes.

Is a PIN the same as encryption?

No. A PIN is an access gate: the server refuses to show or send anything until the correct 4 digits are entered. It is not end-to-end encryption, so do not use pagenam for secrets you cannot afford to lose.

Which files can I upload?

Almost any type: images, PDFs, documents, archives, video and more. Native executables and Windows scripts are blocked. Guests can upload up to 10 files, 10 MB each and 50 MB in total.

Can search engines find my shares?

No. Every share page is marked noindex and is not listed in the sitemap.
